Arnoldo’s Lizards, a Madrid-based band formed in the thick of the pandemic in early 2021, is quickly making waves with their eclectic mix of art rock, alternative rock, and avant-garde influences. Their energetic sound blends genres like funky-disco and progressive rock, making their music as unpredictable as it is danceable.

Founded by Alvare Goco (lead vocals) and Jack Dimensions (synthesizers and backing vocals), the band began as an experimental project. What started in a soundproofed room surrounded by mattresses, with a budget microphone and cellphone recordings, has grown into a full-fledged musical journey. Joined by Gustavo Ciambotti on drums, Pedro Palomar on guitar, and Jose Mora on bass, Arnoldo’s Lizards have evolved their unique sound, driven by improvisation and spontaneous creation.
The band’s songwriting process is an art of improvisation, often starting at the piano and evolving in the moment. Each song is refined and produced to reflect their raw energy and eclectic influences. Their music draws inspiration from a wide range of artists, from Charly García and Björk to Parliament Funkadelic and Nirvana. These diverse influences shape their sound, though they strive to let each song determine its own path without being too beholden to their personal tastes.
Arnoldo’s Lizards’ music also carries deep personal meaning. Their song “American Dream,” born out of frustration and anger towards a specific individual, has resonated with listeners in unexpected ways. Despite the personal nature of their music, they embrace the fact that fans have adopted their songs as their own.

Their journey as emerging artists has been marked by both challenges and achievements. With a zero-budget approach, they recorded their first two albums at home, learning the intricacies of sound production along the way. Despite these limitations, their first album caught the attention of an independent label in Florida, USA, and amassed 250,000 streams—an extraordinary milestone for the band. Playing live in front of over 300 people at Club Tri in Mar del Plata, Argentina, is another career highlight.
Now based in Madrid after moving from Argentina five months ago, Arnoldo’s Lizards are working on their third album, drawing inspiration from their recent life changes. In the short span of their relocation, they’ve composed 19 new songs and are eager to immerse themselves in Madrid’s underground alternative scene.
Music isn’t the only creative outlet for this group. Jack and Alvare share a love for cinema, writing, and art, which continues to fuel their creativity. As they put it, “The world of the Lizards brings with it mutations, skin changes, evolution, and avant-garde.” Their music is not just something to listen to—it’s a moment of rebellion, a space to pause the noise of the world and embrace chaos and harmony together.

With their infectious energy and boundless creativity, Arnoldo’s Lizards invite you to step into their world. As they say, “Welcome to the world of Lizards. Embrace the noise, the chaos, and the harmony from our hearts.”
If you’re hesitant about making music, take their advice: go for it, form a band with your friends, and get out there.
